3 Benefits of Repetition in Your Home and Art

Repetition can create a restful feel. In the wall decor below serenity is captured by duplicating the simple 15 x 22" birch panels.

2 Tips to Enjoy Small Details

1. Extend the color.
To add interest in your favorite accessory pull out one color and elaborate. Smaller additions of that color family will emphasis that favorite bowl, plate or what-not. This fun use of similar or color values will enrich the centerpiece and make it glow. Notice above how the assorted candle jars surround the focal point.
2. Add texture
Also enhance decor by pushing the texture. Add smooth and shiny, or course and craggy to maximize the effect.

3 ways to Jazz Up Your January

Looking for a touch of color during the cool shades of winter? As you know from my birch paintings, I love color, too, so I painted a few brighter hues in different motifs!
                         
2. DYI, Do It Yourself to Jazz up January - Add a splash of color to something mundane. I spray painted gray, mundane cement garden birds and bare winter branches.
 Even a dot of color can make a difference. Pines cones received a new twist simply by adding a few pom-poms with a glue gun.

3. Decor - Look how fun the color radiates with brightly colored pottery!
