Leaving the Photograph - A PAINTING TIP

Posted on April 23, 2015 by Kate Moynihan | 0 comments

How many photos did you snap today? For me, some days it’s a slew, others not so many. Is it like that for you?

Besides clicking memorable moments of friends and family, my other passion is to snap pictures of nature. I get my painting inspiration from the great outdoors. I love to use photographs as a guide to get started. Sometimes I study the shadows and light direction. Sometimes I check for details, like how many pedals on a daffodil.

Once my curiosity is satisfied, I like to leave the realism and make a memory, probably just like you … and this customer, taking a cork screw opener and turning it into star-quality fun.
