A special invitation from Amy:
I am leading a seminar and discussion on the aspects of custom framing Tuesday, July 22 from 5:30-6:15 pm. Expect to be enlightened and to have a great time. Most people I talk with say the reason they don't use custom framing is that it just seem too overwhelming, too many decisions, too expensive.
Ill walk you through the five key aspects of a custom framing project and show you how making your projects custom can be fun and enjoyable. Well look at what products will work the best on your projects and what to avoid. Well also sort out the smartest ways to stretch your dollars.
I'll show you creative samples such as:
- Shadowbox frames with family heirlooms
- Ideas for displaying wedding invitations and birth announcements
- Innovative gift ideas for any occasion
Fun ways to frame your kid's masterpieces

It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's...Super Heros
We want to tell you about some super new framing products. Super Boy is protected behind super UV (ultra Violet) filtering, reflection control, Tru Vue Museum Glass. This glass prevents 99% of color fading UV light passing onto the art inside the frame. Now all three of Tru Vues glass: Museum, Conservation Clear and Conservation Reflection Control, filters out 99 % of these harmful rays that pound planet Earth. The Museum glass is rapidly becoming our best seller in spite of its higher cost. We now use it on every piece of Kate's artwork that is framed for sell in the gallery. Why are so many of our customers willing to pay more for this glass? |
|
 |
|
|
It is because it is so pure in clarity that you almost (many in fact do) have to touch to see if there is really glass over the artwork. Tru Vue has managed to not only create a unique coating that almost entirely eliminates reflection it actually transmits 12 % more light than either of the other two glass products. We think it's almost like having x-ray vision! |

"Holy Great Idea, Batman!"
This new acrylic sandwich frame is custom created by one of our favorite frame moulding vendors. It is made from three pieces of 3/16" acrylic sheets. The front and back is clear and the piece sandwiched in between can be clear, white or black. The opening is cut exactly to the dimension required for your rare comic book collection or Sports Illustrated magazine issues featuring famous sport stars. The contents can be viewed from both the front and back.
The sandwich frame can be self standing (supported by an acrylic attachment on the back), hung on a wall using the optional wall bracket or mounted on a wall with cylindrical metal stand-offs available in several metallic finishes. The stand-offs are the coolest, |

especially if you make a row of collector editions on a wall. The presentation is museum quality. In fact this manufacturer makes many museum acylic display boxes across the country.
The engraved and sandwiched 'Batman' plaque is also an option. This particular piece is 9.75" x 14.5" x 3/8". It retails for under $100 in this size and configuration. |

Too Hot to Handle
Really, really hot, vibrant are anodized onto these 1 1/2" deep aluminum metal frames but not before the surface is wire brushed to provide subtle texture to the finish.
One might wonder where you would use a frame this colorful. Well, we used the teal colored frame on the SUPERBOY comic for a near perfect match. You might be surprised how you can liven an area like the bathroom or kitchen or any number of nooks and crannies with any of these dramatic colors.
Kids love these colors too. Think about framing some of their art projects...bring them along to choose there own color. |

"To the Batmobile Robin!"
Many people don't know the wide variety of unusual items we frame. Often our customers bring in some sort of collectible or keepsake for us to frame. We really enjoy the challenge these jobs bring.
Our computerized mat cutter along with a creative vision can cleanly cut a variety of unusual mats. All the cuts, including the red Superman logo for the SUPERBOY comic frame project were programmed into our computer. The BATMAN logo and the mats for the shadow box pictured to the right were cut on the computer as well.
We can shadow box almost any thing from guns, knives, jerseys, coins, watches, exotic hair combs, dolls, keepsakes from memorable trips, etc.
We pride ourselves on the craftsmanship of our shadow boxes. It is always a disappointment to look at them for only a few minutes before they are packed and out the door.
These pieces are on display in our store through the end of July. |
